April 20, 2025 – – – The #23 team invaded both I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee and Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee over the April 18-19 weekend for a Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series doubleheader. On Friday night in the $10,053 to win weekend lid lifter at I-75, Cory Hedgecock earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session prior to picking up a heat race victory. After starting the 53-lap headliner from the pole position and battling for the lead at several different points in the contest, Cory settled for a close runner-up performance at the checkers behind only winner Ricky Weiss!
At Tazewell on Saturday evening, a $21,000 top prize was up for grabs in the 5th edition of the Lil’ Bill Corum Memorial. Cory laid down the third quickest lap in Group B during Spring Nationals time trials before placing fifth in the quick six dash. The Loudon, Tennessee ace then started the 75-lapper from the inside of the third row, but mechanical issues late in the race dropped Cory to a disappointing fourteenth place effort.
