May 11, 2025 – – – The #23 team headed north to the Bluegrass State on May 9-10 for a pair of Schaeffer’s Oil Spring National Series battles. On Friday night at Rockcastle Speedway in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, Cory Hedgecock competed for the $7,553 first place prize against a 22 car field. Cory timed in third quickest in Group B during the qualifying session to earn the rights to the outside of the third row for the start of the 40-lap feature. The Loudon, Tennessee ace then blitzed all the way up to second in the A-Main to finish an impressive runner-up behind only victor Garrett Smith!
At Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky on Saturday evening, a $10,053 winner’s check was on the line in the annual running of the ‘Johnny Wheeler Memorial.’ Cory went third quickest overall during qualifying prior to securing a heat race triumph. After leading the first 35 circuits from the pole position, Cory suffered some right rear and spoiler damage from contact with the wall and ultimately slipped to seventh in the final finishing order of the 53-lapper.
