May 10, 2026 – – – A week removed from celebrating in victory lane at I-75 Raceway, Cory Hedgecock pulled double duty on Saturday evening, May 9 at the Sweetwater, Tennessee oval. In the $3,000 to win Best Plumber 604 Racing Series portion of the program, Cory once again piloted the #7T car normally driven by Tyler Price. He timed in second fastest in his group during qualifying and won his heat race, but was later disqualified by series officials during the 30-lap feature. A serious incident occurred in the infield during the contest and Chad Hedgecock reached into a cockpit of another racecar to shut off his power, which was the reasoning for the series to issue the unjust DQ.
Behind the wheel of a Limited Late Model, Cory knocked down the fourth quickest lap overall during the qualifying session and was slated to roll off from the outside of the second row in the A-Main. Following the disqualification in the 604, Cory chose not to start the Limited Late Model feature and scratched for the evening.
