Hedgecock Dominates Red Farmer Tribute at TST to Pocket $10,097 Payday

October 19, 2025 – – – Cory Hedgecock’s 2025 win total now stands at ten following a $10,097 triumph in the annual ‘Red Farmer Tribute’ race on Saturday night, October 18 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama!  Cory clicked off the fastest lap in Group B during Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series qualifying and later secured a victory in heat race action.  After rolling off from the outside of the front row in the 50-lap headliner, Cory led from start to finish in the contest to bag the five-figure payday ahead of runner-up Dalton Cook, Trey Mills, Sam Seawright, and Brent Larson!

A night earlier at TST, a $5,038 winner’s check was up for grabs in the annual running of the ‘Jerry Goodwin Challenge.’  Cory stopped the clock second quickest in Group A during the time trial session, which locked him into the inside of the second row for the start of Friday’s 40-lap feature.  Unfortunately, a wrong left rear tire selection prior to the race helped relegate the Loudon, Tennessee ace to a disappointing nineteenth place effort.  Complete results from both Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series showdowns can be viewed online by clicking on www.southernthunderseries.com.

“Friday night was a real heartbreaker,” quoted Hedgecock in victory lane after reaching the double-digit win mark on Saturday.  “I am sure that I didn’t have anything for Zack (Mitchell), as he was in another zip code, but that nineteenth place finish was all my fault.  Glad we could rebound and get the win in the Red Farmer Tribute.  Saturday’s race paid more to win, so it’s all good.  I’ve got to thank my dad, along with everyone that helps out on the car, along with all of our great partners!”

The next event on the racing calendar for the #23V team will be the ‘Tarheel 53’ on Saturday evening, October 25 at the nearby I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee.  The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series finale will boast a $10,053 first place prize.  Cory has picked up a pair of SAS victories so far this year including the season opener at I-75 Raceway back on February 1.  Learn more about the ‘Tarheel 53’ online at www.sasdirt.com or don’t miss a lap of the action by watching LIVE on Dirt Rich TV.
