August 3, 2025 – – – Cory Hedgecock and his #23 team returned to the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series scene on August 1-2 in the ‘Deep Fried 75’ at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee. In Friday’s opener, which shelled out an $8,000 payday, Cory stopped the clock third quickest in Group B during qualifying prior to picking up a heat race triumph. After drawing the fourth starting spot for the 40-lap feature, Cory did not have the run he had hoped for and ultimately finished fifteenth in the final rundown.
At Duck River on Saturday evening, a $15,000 first place prize was up for grabs in the ‘Deep Fried 75’ grand finale. Cory knocked down the fifth fastest lap in Group A during time trials and later advanced to finish second in his heat race. The Loudon, Tennessee ace then started fifth on the grid in the 75-lap headliner, drove to the front of the field to lead laps 18-70, and crossed underneath the checkers a strong runner-up behind only victor Sam Seawright. Exiting Duck River Raceway Park, Cory finds himself a close third in the latest version of the HTF point standings. Full results can be accessed online at www.htfseries.com.
Next up for Cory Hedgecock Motorsports will be a trip north on I-75 to Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The 43rd edition of the ‘North/South 100’ will take place at the 1/2-mile speedplant from August 7-9. A pair of $6,000 to win, split-field prelim programs will take place on Thursday and Friday leading into Saturday’s 100-lap crown jewel headliner, which will once again be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
