July 6, 2025 – – – Cory Hedgecock and his #23 team spent the Independence Day holiday weekend at three different dirt venues with three different sanctioning bodies in two different states. On Thursday night at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee, a $5,000 payday was up for grabs with the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series. Cory laid down the third quickest time in Group B during qualifying and later started the 40-lap main event from the outside of the third row. He then climbed past four racecars to place a strong runner-up behind only victor Garrett Smith.
At the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee on Friday evening, a $7,500 top prize was on the line with the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series. Cory qualified well, but later suffered problems in his heat race to finish sixth. The Cory Hedgecock Motorsports team then opted to scratch from the 50-lap headliner that was ultimately won by Camaron Marlar.
The triple shot then concluded on Saturday at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia, as the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series presided over the $15,000 to win ‘Independence Shootout.’ Cory knocked down the third fastest time in Group B during qualifying and later placed third in his heat race. The Loudon, Tennessee star then rocketed past seven competitors during the 50-lapper to land on the podium in third behind only victor Jimmy Owens and runner-up Joseph Joiner!
