Cory Hedgecock visits Smoky Mountain for LOLMDS doubleheader

Drawing 45 cars, Hedgecock was caught behind a spinning car in his heat race that lightly flipped him on his roof. Charging from the tail in his 30-lap preliminary feature, Cory was up to ninth from the 22nd-starting position but suffered a hole in his radiator that dropped him back to 20th.
On Saturday, Cory’s 10th-to-seventh run in his heat relegated him into the B-Main for another shot at the $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic. Needing to place third or better, Hedgecock retired on the fifth circuit.
