March 1, 2026 – – – The busy Speedweeks for Cory Hedgecock continued from February 24-28 with five Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shootouts during the ‘Wieland Winternationals’ at Ocala Speedway in Ocala, Florida. With a rain-out on Friday, only four races officially got into the record books. Cory unfortunately did not transfer into the pair of $7,000 to win non-point features on Tuesday and Wednesday, but did find his way into the other two main events later in the week.
In Thursday’s $10,000 to win contest, Cory ran fifth in his heat race, fourth in his B-Main, and twenty-second in the 40-lap headliner. With a hefty $25,000 top prize up for grabs in Saturday’s grand finale, Cory relied on a series provisional to gain access into the 50-lapper and ultimately placed twenty-fifth in the final finishing order. The Loudon, Tennessee native now finds himself thirteenth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings exiting Ocala.
