September 1, 2025 – – – The #23V team spent the Labor Day holiday weekend at a pair of dirt venues in the states of Tennessee and Ohio. Things kicked off on Saturday, August 30 at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee, as the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presided over a $4,000 to win shootout. Aboard a brand-new Longhorn Chassis, Cory Hedgecock laid down the quickest time in Group B during qualifying to earn the outside of the front row for the start of the 40-lap feature. Cory then led the first 19 circuits before mechanical woes eventually sent him to the pits and relegated him to a disappointing seventeenth place showing.
On Sunday, August 31, the doubleheader wrapped up at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The American Late Model Iron-Man Series sanctioned the annual ‘Baltes Classic’ and the split-field showdown boasted a $5,000 winner’s check. Cory started and finished third in his heat race prior to rolling off from the outside of the fourth row in his 25-lapper. The Loudon, Tennessee star then worked his way past four competitors to place fourth behind only victor Ricky Thornton, Jr., Mike Marlar, and Tyler Erb!
