Sixth place finish in Late Model Championship at Bulls Gap

Cory Hedgecock was one of 73 American Crate All-Star Series entries crammed into the pit area on Friday night at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for the two-day Crate Late Model National Championship. After getting behind the eight-ball in time trials, Hedgecock logged an eighth place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Locking in the Top 2, Cory fell short with a sixth place outing.

The following night, Cory came in fifth fastest in his qualifying group before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory. Starting the $15,000-to-win Crate Late Model National Championship in fourth, Hedgecock was up to second early in the 100-lapper but faded after the lap-50 fuel to stop place sixth.
