Double World 100's bring Hedgecock to Eldora

Cory Hedgecock made the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Wednesday afternoon to compete in preliminary action for the 51st annual World 100. With the massive 80-car field divided into two groups, Cory suffered a broken transmission in his heat race that dropped him from contention. Starting in 11th in his heat race on Thursday, Hedgecock improved four spots in the 20-lapper to finish seventh. Transferring into the B-Main, Cory recorded a fifth-place finish, leaving him one last shot into the $54,000-to-win World 100 with a five-lap scramble. Sending the race-winner into the show, Hedgecock scored a second-place finish.

For another round of preliminary features on Friday as the 50th World 100 commenced, Cory came in 26th fastest in his group before placing seventh in his heat race. Needing a fourth-place finish or better in his B-Main to make the A-Main, Hedgecock logged a seventh-place outing.

On Saturday afternoon, Hedgecock fell three spots short of a transfer position in his heat race with a sixth-place finish. Rolling off ninth in his B-Main for one final shot at the $53,000-towin World 100, Cory was an early retiree on lap 15.
