The Tennessee throttle masher bested the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals competition at 411 Motor Speedway to claim the $10,053 top prize.

“We got behind early in the night at 411 (Motor Speedway) with radiator issues and then I let a heat race win slip away from me, but I told my dad ‘We’re going to win this thing somehow’, and that’s what we did,” Hedgecock said. “We came from seventh to the lead early in the feature and never looked back on the way to the win.

“I buried us in qualifying on Saturday night at Wythe Raceway, but we had a great car in the feature. I got to second, but just couldn’t get past the leader. It was a solid weekend, and we have wicked-fast racecars right now. I hope we can keep the momentum rolling this weekend.”

Thursday night saw Cory Hedgecock return to action with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Ga.) during the seventh round of the miniseries. With the third-fastest qualifying effort in his group locking him into the sixth-starting position for the $4,053-to-win A-Main, Hedgecock was an early retiree while running in the top-10 due to rough track conditions.

The following night at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.), Cory ran into issues with his radiator in hot laps but rebounded to qualify second in his group. Earning the seventh-starting position for the feature via a runner-up finish in his heat race, Hedgecock blasted ahead of polesitter Ross Bailes on the 14th lap and paced the field for the remaining distance to capture his sixth win of the season and a $10,053 prize. He finished ahead of Randy Weaver, Pierce McCarter, Donald McIntosh, and Cody Overton.

On Saturday evening, Hedgecock trekked to Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) for the American All-Star Series-sanctioned Trade Show 53. In a field of 24 cars, Cory secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a fourth-place finish in his heat. Rolling off 13th, Hedgecock advanced through the field 11 spots in the 53-lapper to register a runner-up finish. He followed Dillon Brown across the line with Ben Watkins, Carson Ferguson, and Trevor Sise rounding out the Top-5.
