The $4,000 triumph was in Valvoline Iron-Man Series action and came at Tennessee’s I-75 Speedway.
“Racing is the most humbling sport. We’ve struggled so long I didn’t know if we could figure out how to get back to victory lane,” said Hedgecock. “I appreciate Jensen (Ford) running me so clean. Anybody else I know would have moved me because we were not the fastest, but we’ll take it.
“I’m proud of my team and all of their hard work through the hard times. Everybody is working harder than ever, and I thank them and everyone who stands behind our racing program.”
Making his lone start of the weekend, Cory Hedgecock traveled to I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) on Saturday evening for the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series sanctioned program. With the fastest time in his group positioning him on the pole for the 40-lap feature, Hedgecock led wire-to-wire to register his second win of the season. He took the checkers ahead of Jensen Ford, David Crabtree, Garrett Smith, and Colton Proffit to earn $4,000.
