Cory Hedgecock attends Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
Making the haul to the Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio), Cory Hedgecock invaded the famed half-mile oval on Thursday afternoon as the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream kicked off with a pair of prelims.
With the 95-car field divided into two groups, Hedgecock buried himself in time trials but raced his way into his preliminary feature with an impressive seventh-to-first run in his B-Main. Moving forward five spots in the 25-lap affair, Cory crossed the line in 16th.
For another round of preliminary features on Friday, Cory grabbed the fifth-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which pinned him on the ninth row for the $12,000-to-win prelim. Showing speed again in the feature, Hedgecock brought home a 13th-place finish.
With preliminary points placing him on the fourth row of his heat race on Saturday afternoon, Hedgecock jumped up three spots to finish fifth, relegating him into a B-Main for one final shot at the $129,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream. Starting sixth and needing to place second or better, Cory lost ground on an over-saturated race track to finish 16th.
