Hedgecock finishes 13th with LOLMDS at Smoky Mountain Speedway

Cory Hedgecock unloaded his BMF Race Cars No. 23 Late Model at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon to do battle with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) for the two-day Mountain Moonshine Classic.

With officials eliminating heat races due to rough track conditions, Cory’s qualifying effort pinned him on the 10th row for his $5,000-to-win prelim. Rebounding with a top-10 run, Hedgecock passed 11 cars in the 30-lapper to register a ninth-place finish.

On Saturday, Hedgecock edged his way into the Mountain Moonshine Classic finale with the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Chasing a $50,000 payday, Cory improved four positions in the talent-laden field to finish 13th.
