Fifth-place finish in Jackson 100 at Brownstown Speedway
Cory Hedgecock returned behind the wheel of his E-Z GO No. 23 Late Model on Friday night at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) for the doubleheader weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS).
With 45 Late Models entered for Friday’s C.J. Rayburn Memorial, Hedgecock was never able to recover in his heat and consolation race after a mid-pack qualifying effort. He came in eighth in his heat before retiring on the eighth circuit of his B-Main.
For the annual Jackson 100 on Saturday, Cory followed up the fourth-fastest qualifying lap in his time trial group with an impressive heat race win over Jonathan Davenport. Starting on the second row for the $30,000-to-win Jackson 100 finale, Hedgecock rolled to a fifth-place finish, which came behind Ricky Thornton Jr., Hudson O’Neal, Devin Moran, and Tim McCreadie.
